Born in Mexico, Mr. Gutierrez came to Dixon at the age of 9. He attended California State University at Sacramento and graduated with honors in Criminal Justice and Ethnic Studies in 1979.

Mr. Gutierrez received his legal education at McGeorge School of Law and was awarded a Juris Doctorate in 1983. Mr. Gutierrez began a solo private practice in Dixon in 1984, and in 1994 he merged his practice into Bernheim, Gutierrez, Levin and McCready.

Mr. Gutierrez has extensive trial and litigation experience in both criminal and civil cases. He is fluent in Spanish and represents many clients with limited English skills. Mr. Gutierrez has served part time as an Administrative Law Judge for the California Office of Administrative Hearings and has volunteered as a pro tem judge in the Solano County Courts.

Mr. Gutierrez is active in community and business organizations and serves on several boards. He is presently a member of the Dixon Unified School District Board of Trustees. He has coached soccer for many years and taken youth teams to Europe.
